experiment 1
standing at the gates, awaiting my permission.
the many souls I have taken, they can never be replaced.
but this was the contradicting phase.
against everything - a complete odium against all morals.

She winced at the light that glanced at her face
Only for it to see her desperation and despair
She laid in bed, wrapped by white sheets — curtains ajar
Her thoughts were vile, her mindscape is a no-man's-land
She bears what a dystopian mind: The aftermaths of love
It pains me to see her like this — but I have won
How selfish of me to think of this as victory:
A passive revenge of my rejection
Certainly
I observed her from time to time:
She drags her feet, with no confidence,
No rhythm nor rhyme
Her wrinkled clothes reflects her uncertainty:
No time to care,
at least not for me—

History never changes, it remains the same
But I can't complain. I am history itself...
Where do we go in our time machine?
The Befores? The Nows? In Between?
I'd go back to the night I was born
To see how you watched us with scorn
I'd pickup the weary red ribbon
You throw from you top left pocket
I would've kept in this mental locket
On our last days before we see the Sun
I'd paint you my troubles,
Sing a sad sonnet,
For maybe I was wrong
But what can a man give, when he doesn't have?
Love? Happiness? I starve!
I'd go back to the night the room was quiet
When we were amid a silent riot
What we wanted we knew not
For us to remember is to forget
We slashed each other with invisible words
Our bodies danced ignoring the hurt
Where do we go from here? Out the building?
I'm latched to this chair!
You're an arsonist!
Lit the one place I thought of as home afire!
Burn! Burn! Burn! Your voice rose higher
Stop . . . This is as far as I go in this daydream
Let's get back to the musing time machi

Insomnia
Sands of time disappear upon every tick and tock.
The sand man is no where to be seen, I must destroy this clock.
Where could he be with my potion of melatonin,
for to me drink and off into a dream before morning?
The sand sifts,
I count every clock pulse as lost of gold.
Precious hours are passing where vista stories could be told.
My habit ages: It grows into a withering soul...
What is this condition, a dream phobia?
So in touch with reality I must be stricken with insomnia.

TO YOU ASPIRING ARTISTS...FROM JOE MADUREIRA
Here's some of the most amazing and invaluable advice you'll most-likely ever get from one of my good colleagues and legends in comics/gaming, creator JOE MADUREIRA. It's what i've been preaching to you aspiring artists since i arrived on DA, but i think his POV says it perfectly:
*WARNING: SOME MATURE LANGUAGE*
"DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ARTIST?
Or a successful WORKING PROFESSIONAL?
Believe it or not there is a difference. I'm not usually a soapbox type guy, I don't like instructing people, and I think I'm a terrible teacher. But hey, it's Friday and I'm in a strange mood. So here goes:
I've noticed that a good number of my fans happen to be aspiring artists themselves. This is for all you guys. I get asked constantly: "Where should I go to school?" "What classes should I take?" "What should I study for anatomy?" "What pencils and paper do you use?" "Should I be working digitally now instead of traditionally?" "How do I fix my poses? Learn composition? Perspective?" "When

TL;DR: How do you organize your art notes in your sketchbooks for getting to them easily? I'm having trouble doing that. Also, I'm thinking about putting my note online using a blog.

I can't seem to organize my art notes so that I can get to them easily. As I used my sketchbooks, I'd do anatomy drawing here and then perspective studies on a next set of pages. Where I live, it's kinda expensive to get the large 11x8 Canson hardcover sketchbooks that I love, so I have to put notes of anatomy, perspective, and animation in the same books. But now it's becoming hard to find those notes when I need them.

So I'd like to know, where do you keep your art notes and studies? How do you organize them for easy access?

I've been thinking about putting my notes online, using Evernote, or a blog (but since I'm copying from books, I'm wondering if there are some copyright issues there.
I'm working on something special. It's an art webapp for animators who want to train themselves.

Create a list of challenges, tackle each one, and grow your skills. After completing a challenge in the list, upload your work and share it across the community.

I'm making this because I know in my heart that it'd be useful to myself and others.

Below is a copy of a post I made on my tumblr and just thought that I'd share it here.

I’ve been having trouble with lighting scenes. So, I googled lighting techniques and found three-point lighting. I’m familiar with its concept, but never paid it any attention—maybe I should have.

After reading up on three-point lighting technique, I hopped onto Blender and started testing, using Suzanne (a pre-made 3D model designed for test purposes).

My result was beautiful.

This scene uses atmospheric shadows, reflection (Suzanne & the cubes), and fake ambient occlusion.

However, below is the clay render.

I’m pretty proud of this.

Thanks! :aww: So do I. I found it once when I was thanking people for watches and I've used it ever since! It's really convenient, since it works for both faves and watches.

Yes it is. And it's better than a dull "Thanks for the fav/watch" :)
